Booking Your Wedding at The Mill Forge near Gretna Green
Follow this simple guide to take away the stress of booking your wedding at The Mill Forge near Gretna Green.
Contact us on 01461 800344 to discuss the availability of your chosen date. You can then make a provisional booking which we hold for ten days without any obligation or deposit. The provisional booking would include your wedding venue, hotel accommodation and wedding reception as required.
Decide whether you would like either a religious or civil ceremony. Details of how to book either ceremony can be found by following the steps below.
Confirm the booking by sending the necessary deposits within ten days of making the provisional booking. The deposits we require are £20 per room per night, full payment for The Mill Forge and £5 per person for your wedding reception.
Booking a Religious Wedding
- Contact us on 01461 800344 to make a provisional booking which we would hold for ten days.
- Contact a Minister from the list which we will provide you with, and arrange for their services.
- If you haven't already done so then you MUST contact Gretna Registration Office on 03033 333004 to obtain the necessary legal paperwork (M10 forms)*. Or visit their website www.gretnaonline.net
- Return The Mill Forge booking form to us signed and completed with the Minister's name and full payment for The Mill Forge.
- When we have received The Mill Forge booking form and payment for the hire of The Mill Forge we will send you confirmation of your booking.
Booking a Civil Wedding
- Contact The Mill Forge on 01461 800344 to make a provisional booking which we hold for ten days.
- You MUST contact Gretna Registration Office on 03033 333004 or visit their website www.gretnaonline.net to obtain the necessary legal paperwork (M10 forms)*.
- Return The Mill Forge booking form to us signed, completed and ticked for a registrar along with full payment for The Mill Forge.
- When we have received your booking form and payment for the hire of The Mill Forge, then we'll apply for the registrar on your behalf. When the registrar has confirmed to us that they will be able to attend, we will send both our and their confirmation to you.
- The registrar's confirmation will have a footnote detailing any payments or deposits they require.

Book any other wedding services for your big day. These may include a piper, a photographer, a florist, a beautician etc.
*The M10 Marriage Notice forms must be returned to Gretna Registry Office between three months and twenty-eight days prior to your big day. Failure to present the M10 forms will mean that you cannot legally be married.
